August 2019: Madder Rose will have a new LP this year (vinyl and digital) called To Be Beautiful, released on Trome Records out of the UK. Here is the first single: https://store.tromerecords.com/album/to-be-beautiful

July 2019:
In 2018 I decided to do 400 paintings on 2.5x2.5" canvases. I only ended up doing 300 or so, and 243 of them will be on display at the Tompkins County Public Library on July 5th, as part of Gallery night. The title of the show is 243 Paintings (see above).

February 2017:
I created a sound installation for a Diorama by artist Craig Mains: https://gallerynightithaca.wordpress.com/2017/01/19/february-3rd-new-roots-charter-school/
November 2016:
7 inch single release: Dom Martin's singles label, Polytechnic Youth, has released Excerpt: Places (GirlGhost 1) backed with Cloudx Trans 5 (GirlGhosts 2). The A-side is an edited version of music originally made for Craig Mains photo exhibit, Time /Manner / Place. The songs are from a 10 piece series, GirlGhosts, that are in abstact remembrance of Billy's old friend and collaborator, Don Greene. Listen here:

October 2016:
36 Transitions. A collaborative, multimedia installation featuring musician Billy Coté, writer Jon Frankel and artist Craig Mains, exhibiting 6 groups of 6 linked works of image, music and text in an interdisciplinary mix of the game broken telephone and exquisite corpse. Oct 7 - Oct 29 2016, at The Ink Shop, 330 E State St, Ithaca, NY 14850
Each artist has a total of 12 pieces in the exhibit. I will eventually post all my Transitions in SoundCloud. Below is a sample of 6 transitions:

May 2015:
Earlier this year my good friend Jon Frankel had his novel GAHA: Babes of the Abyss, published by Whiskey Tit press. If one were forced to name a genre they might call it sci-fi noir, but it reads as, and is a work of serious literary fiction. It at times reminded me of Burroughs at his most fanciful and deranged, which is saying something. Here is a link to his blogh. I particularly like his food writing.

Also worth noting is a project undertaken by the below mentioned Craig Mains (February 2015 entry), Jon and me. It is a system of interpreting each other's work - I will go into in more detail later. It will be a year long project culminating in a gallery show, web site etc. I'm so happy to be colaborating with these two gentlemen, as I truly appreciate their individual aesthetics, and the graceful way in which they incorporate art into their busy, grown-up lives.
March 2015:
I recently guested on a lovely album by a band from the UK. They are called Evi Vine, and the album is Give Your Heart To The Hawks. It's ethereal and melodic, and well worth checking out. http://evivine.com/
February 2015:
I recently created atmospheric music for the opening of Craig Mains photography exhibition at CSMA in Ithaca. The show was called Time /Manner / Place. It was curated by Preston Buchtel for the exhibit For Everything a Place hosted by BayArts in the Cleveland area. Craig added to the CSMA show some photos which they didn't have room for in Cleveland, as well as a few taken since that time.
